Chattanooga State’s Dwight Hunter has stepped into the role of 2022-23 president of the Tennessee Library Association after serving as vice president and president-elect during 2021-22. Hunter, a librarian in Chattanooga State’s Kolwyck Library and Information Commons since 1992, holds a master’s degree in information systems from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Bennett named VP of student affairs
Dr. Amanda Bennett is the new vice president for student affairs at Chattanooga State.
Bennett has held a number of positions since first arriving at the community college in 2006, including serving as academic adviser, engineering technology specialist, Tennessee Consortium for International Studies program director, honors and leadership education director and student affairs interim vice president.
Bennett’s accomplishments include securing more than $500,000 in grant funding for student scholarships, increasing honors student membership from 50 to more than 250 and partnering with campus departments and community agencies to increase equity for low-income, rural and minority student populations.
Bennett holds an educational leadership doctoral degree from East Tennessee State University and a Master of Education in college student affairs administration and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Georgia.
Erlanger promotes Duffy, Winks
Erlanger has promoted Katie Duffy to vice president of operations for Erlanger Health System and Tyler Winks to chief executive officer of Erlanger East and North hospitals.
Duffy previously served as system senior director of pharmacy for Erlanger. She has over 15 years of clinical experience and over 10 years of operational leadership experience, both within and outside of the pharmacy.
Duffy earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Mercer University, a doctorate in pharmacy from Mercer’s College of Pharmacy and a master’s in business administration from Mercer’s Stetson-Hatcher School of Business.
She completed her postgraduate residency at Erlanger, where her project in antimicrobial stewardship led to the program that’s still in place today.
Winks joined Erlanger in July 2021 as vice president of operations. He has over 11 years of clinical and hospital operations leadership experience.
Wink began his medical career as an MRI technologist and then advanced into a leadership role in which he was responsible for both administrative and clinical operations of medical imaging and other ancillary and support services at multiple hospitals in Kentucky.
He later served as senior director of hospital operations and rehabilitation services at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia.
Winks earned a bachelor’s degree in imaging sciences from Morehead State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
He is registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in radiography, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Winks is also a member of the American Collage of Healthcare Executives.
